Noah and The Whale have returned from their collective boo-hooing session (which culminated in the really-quite-good “First Days Of Spring” LP) to bring us a piping hot dose of new music in a time where literally nothing is happening, anywhere. L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N marks a frankly bizzare stylistic u-turn in which they ditch the vulnerable twee indie folk background for a warm combination (read: blatant rip off) of The Kinks, Crowded House, Big Country and distressingly large amounts of Tom Petty thrown in for good measure. Still, it’s really hard to dislike that kind of shameless alchemy, and despite their sharp as all fuck suits and stony eyed expressions, they seem to be enjoying the combination themselves… Maybe.
Hear it and below.
