When I last saw Connan Mockasin, he’d grown his hair out and was shambling around on stage during his Field Day 2013 performance, apologizing for everything. He rattled through the classics and mumbled something or other about trying some new songs out on us, noting he’d just finished recording his new album. Later on and only driven mildly psychotic by the pill addled twerp jumping into me throughout the entire set, I described what he played as “psychedelic sex-funk” and it was. Perfect, outrageous, swampy and sexy in equal measures, you too can now bask in the glory of New Zealand’s premier export by streaming the follow up to 2010’s vastly-underrated ‘Please Turn Me Into the Snat’ LP by utilizing the widget up above. It’s superlative.
