Yellow Ostrich announce, sell, give away, and stream début LP 'The Mistress' all at once

As a star of a patented Misc.Music artist feature, Yellow Ostrich can count himself (YO is after all, a single man operation) in a select group of hand picked and far too awesome artists that we over at MM Towers* are very passionate about. It’s in this jovial spirit that I happily announce that his debut album has found itself a home on his Bandcamp and a comfortable beach house in my heart. ‘The Mistress’ turns out to be less of a filthy skank hoe and more of a mixture of imaginative vocal harmonies, more tip top influences than you can shake a digital copy at AND the ever lovely voice of Alex Shaaf (who’s sounding more and more like Sufjan Stevens by the day, in case you were asking). Needless to say, it’s pretty great. Here’s what he had to say about it.

For the past year or so I’ve been working on one album called The Mistress. I’ve released many other things while working on this album, but this has been the one I’ve kept coming back to.  It’s easily the longest time I’ve ever spent on one album.  That says nothing of its value to the listener, of course, but I will leave that up to you.  I’ve labored over it for months, and I’m actually pretty happy with how it turned out.  It’s the first album to feature musicians other than myself.  I got some friends to play drums and guitars and bass here and there.  Most of it is still just me, but there’s some nice touches here and there that I couldn’t have done otherwise.

You can pay whatever you like for the album, and you can even stream it below! Because you’re just nice enough to warrant the extra 4 or 5 clicks it took to get it here.
