The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart – Say No To Love

The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart literally owned a good many months of my music playing life last year and there’s absolutely no reason why they shouldn’t do the same for you. After all they do have a wonderful album and they do have a wonderful EP with a wonderful song on it called Higher Than The Stars which led them from scuzzy guitar pop to glorious regular pop and now they have this, the first single from (presumably) a forthcoming sophomore album. They decided to call it “Say No To Love”, and thanks to Pitchfork we can now hear it by clicking here and then using a certain amount of common sense.

“Say No To Love” finds the band striking a middle ground between their debut and the Higher Than The Stars EP, a tighter sound and brighter synth whilst toning down on the feedback that drenched their debut. You should listen to it.

NOTE TO KIP BERMAN: Stop trying to sound English.

NOTE TO EVERYONE ELSE: Good job guys.

BONUS ROUND: They do amazing B-sides
