Remember back in 2009 when Cigar Ross had finished recording their new album, an album that they described as both melodic and ambient (who wudda thunk it), before scrapping it and disappearing from sight? I remember. Infact, I remember every time my eyes travel to the poster for Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust that I got from a record store for free, because they were throwing it out. And so, like the lover who left you to record a solo album with a spectacular title track and then a series of perfectly acceptable songs thereafter, Jonsi has got the band back together for… uh… Inni. A film directed by Vincent Morisset and presumably featuring less of the electrical noise featured in the trailer and more of that sweet, sweet post-rock that the fine gentlemen of Sigur Rós have become reasonably known for over the last 16 years or so.
Inni will be playing at Venice Days around the 31st of August, which means you can’t go see it. Now, I’m not saying you should riot or anything, but if anything is the cause for mindless destruction of lives which have done nothing wrong to you in the first place, this is probably it.
