There are a fair number of outrageously influential, sonically perfect records knocking around over there in the big blueish gray blob known as thingsthatcamebeforerightnow, and sure, in your existence, you’ll have heard a good number of them by now. If you’re anything like me though, and I hope you aren’t, you’d be sitting there, listening to one of those records and suddenly think “hey, I bet there were a huge amount of alternate takes, studio sessions and live recordings that would go perfect with this already perfect album!”, It’s a cross we bear, for sure, but oh boy are we in luck today because in celebration of The Velvet Underground’s self titled (roughly) classic turning 45 years old, it’s getting the full six disk reissue treatment, with all the superfluous extras that completionists the world over crave before anything up to and including a hearty breakfast.
