Klaxons – Echoes

Judging from Lahndan’s pop punk 4 piece Klaxons sleeve output of late, it seems they didn’t just spend the last 3 years reshaping a dense psychedelic mess into something record label big wigs would be able to sell to the Lady Gaga and Scouting For Girls market, they seem to have spent a considerable amount of time pissing about on Photoshop, and the HILARIOUS head swapping capabilities that come with (oh you guize lolo). Ridiculous artwork aside, Echoes is in every sense of the word (if it even is a bona fide word…) ‘choon’. From the stop start piano, signature dance beats and an even more ever present wall of euphoria erupting from guitarist Simon Taylor Davis’ guitar fumblings, this is ‘Surfing The Void’s’ ‘Golden Skans’, or basically the song you’re most looking forward to getting out of your head and flailing about to like Florence Welch doing her best Kate Bush impression. Well worth the wait.
