Last year, whilst Friendly Fires were gearing up to release their second full length “Pala”, Ed MacFarlane went swanning around describing their new sound as “*NSYNC or Backstreet Boys but played with a breathless beat and weird guitar”. In reality, Pala was a big, ugly record which certainly sounded a lot like that description, only the worst possible way. Old MiscMusic faves Lemonade, on the other hand, have spent the last couple of years busy re-imagining their vaguely dancefloor ready formula into something more introspective, taking that boy-band style, combining it with their lush tropical beats, warm synths and heightened songwriting sensibility without ever ending up with Hawaiian fucking Air. The result is “Neptune”, which arrives direct from their newest record Diver. You can stream it below, or buy the record on limited edition blue vinyl over here.
Diver will arrive on the 29th of May via the ever glorious True Panther Sounds.
